Gardening Landscaper questions

Hi,

I received a quote for communal area in my estate which myself and all the residents feel is daylight robbery.

Since none of us are familiar with how exactly figures are attained I have told the management company that we are not happy with this quote so they said that I could discuss this with the gardener or landscaper. Thats great but even if he does explain the breakdown of costs involved theres no guarantee it will clear things up.

With this in mind I was wondering if anyboyd had questions that would be relevant to ask in a conversation with a gardening contractor and answers which I should expect (perhaps any replies I could give to show I know what Im talking about).

I dont see how anybody can justify 1800e for less then 3 days work, particularly in a small communal area.

There was a recommended landscaper from Drogheda on this site somewhere but I couldnt find it.

Any helpful suggestions would be most welcome.

I think the gardener from Drogheda was Garden and Home. The mobile number is 085 7108080. This guy did my garden and I was very happy with it. I don't think that 1800 sounds very expensive for 3 days gardening and landscaping work. Is the gardener supplying plants etc? Is there a good bit of work to be done? I think this whole gardening/landscaping work is quite expensive anyway.

This is actually to cut the grass. I thought his original quotes were expensive. The grass hasnt been cut in 2 months and certain sections have overgrown (and certain sections like myself were kept cut regularly).

Well I take that back then..! 1800 sounds very expensive for grass cutting, no matter how long it's got!

That certainly seems expensive. Why don't you look into the posibility of getting a price for a years contract on cutting the grass. This is common practice and may be priced better due to the fact as it is seen as steady work.

Geez I'd travel and cut the grass for that money

Thats what I though myself guys & Gals.

The management agents have said I can phone up the landscaper but he could say anything to me and I wouldnt be able to compare it to anything.

Thanks for at backing up what I thought . . . .
