Garden maintenance

I got Fraxinus Excelsior Westhof's Glorie Ash trees (bare root) last April 12 months. Admittedly it was late in the growing season and the soil was not brillant. Unfortunately some trees did not take off in 2008 and more have fallen by the wayside this year. Any pointers on how i can ressurrect these trees. In June of this year i reseeded the garden containing these trees and raised the garden a couple of inches with relatively good topsoil.

Any help?
