full licience and insurance question

hi,

If you pass your driving test and say your insurance renewel is coming up the week after you passed can you say to them oh i passed my test last week. Even though you havent got your full licience yet.

Or do you have to actually have the full licience before they will give you a renewel quote with a full licience?

Your renewal should be based on a full licence, they should take your word for it but may ask for a copy of the certificate or receipt to be faxed to them shop arround now you have the full licence as having it opens the door to alot more insurers then last year when you were on prov.

They will reduce your premium based on the day of passing your test. However (and this is where I got caught) if you change insurance company in the future, most of them ask for the date of your driving licence (not the date you passed your test) so its best to send off and get your licence as soon as you can, even if you have time left on your provisional.
