OMG.

Just got a quote from a guy for front door. Feels like its kind of expensive. Plywood door with arch top - E2.5k - almost like a church door. He wants 500 to fit? All this without any drawing or design on what we'd get so it feels a bit 'in the dar'. Dread to see what his stairs will be like.

Going to shop around but am I being unfair? Or does anyone have other tips or reccs. DH cursing my taste for gothic!

he mentioned warping.

I think its treated reinforced plywood.

Have contacted other joiners for additional quotes.

Wwe installed a large front door via the company that were doing the windows for the house. Door came from Munster Joinery and included 2 partial glass side panels and cost came to €1695 inc fitting.

take a long hard look at the locks he is installing with the door as well

2.5k seems dear

I dont know where you are but recently got door from Paddy Kelly in Ardee, Co Louth. Solid door with 2 side panels and sunburst over same. Glass not incl. Fitting, weather bar and locks incl. Love it.
Cost 1600. He does a variety of doors, specialises in shop fronts.
