I have a 7 years old Zanussi fridge/freezer (one of the self-defrosting ones). Lately the fridge keeps defrosting and floods with water. There is a little hole in the bottom of the fridge where I think the water is meant to go but clearly this is not happening. Is it possible that this hole is blocked - there used to be a little pulley key thing there but it's gone now. Any ideas how to unblock the hole? Should the fridge be defrosting almost every day? I have checked the seal on the fridge door and it seems to be fine so I don't think that's the problem. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Thanks Sue Ellen exactly the same problem as mine and some good suggestions - I will try to unblock the outlet hole with a drinking straw. I can't get to the back of the fridge as it's built in, but I know it's not running efficiently as I have to keep it on No 5 even now. Perhaps I should get a proper service if I can locate someone who does this. Thanks again.
We've had a few recommendations for Paul Harding but he is based in Dundrum and not too sure if he is into fridge/freezers or more washing machines.
You could try ringing www.mastercare.ie and see if they can advise. You could discuss the problem with them and see how much a call out to Navan would be.
Thanks again Sue Ellen. I'll try the DIY route first and if no better I will follow up with mastercare - unfortunately a bit strapped for cash at the moment.
