Fridge/freezer problem

I have a Hoover fridge/freezer, 9 years old. The frost free freezer is freezing up, the setting is between 1 and 2 which keeps the fridge at or just below 40 degrees. Neither the fridge nor the freezer are over full, there is at least 10cm space behind the appliance for air to circulate and it is not built in.

My question is, is this likely to be repairable and if so will it cost a lot, am I better off buying a new appliance?

I'd buy a new one to replace a 9year old givingtrouble. You may pay now to fix it and have a different problem arise a week later. Everything has a finite life beyond which it isn't worth spending money on it.

I would get it looked at first as it might be something simple- I have problems with my washer/dryer twice in the last 2 years - both times it was something quite small so was alot cheaper to get fixed then replace

Think I'll get someone to have a look just in case its something simple. Thanks Luckycharm.
