Hi all

Is there such a thing whereby if the homeowner is in receipt of SW they can apply through a waiver form to avail of a free refuse collection with the council/corporation?

Depends on the council/corporation involved... Some are very generous, some aren't... Also depends on whether the council/corporation carries out the refuse service itself, if or private operators do it...

Best bet is to check it out with the council /corporation involved...

It's also not the case that if the homeowner is a SW recipient that they will automatically get a waiver if available in their area. If your household income comes from the DSFA or if your household income is not liable for income tax you can get bin tags free of charge. The local authority requires proof of all household income, so, basically if someone living in the house is working & paying tax, or if the homeowner has an additional pension etc, the chances are they would not qualify for a waiver, but as local authorities differ, as Darthvadar advised, they should check to make sure.
