Hi all a bit of a strange one. I have found some shares that belonged to my grandfather who died in 1983 with no will. My grand mother died some years later also with no will that I can located some years later. At the time we had a family business and as was common practise the business along with all furniture etc was taken over by my father (leased not owned) some years later my brother bought the property and it is solely in his name. The shares identified are now I believe valued at circa 25k how would we go about cashing these in and in the absence of a will for anyone other than my father would this possible ?

Contact the company, they will likely have a separate entity acting as registrar. Find out if your grandfather is still a registered shareholder.
