I am trying to complete my Dad's 2020 tax. We rescued him from London at the end of March when his social care fell apart and brought him back to Cork to look after him. I registered him for PAYE with the Revenue Commissioners (I'm one of his lasting powers of attorney) and my brother (also an LPA) deregistered him with HMRC in the UK.
He only had UK state pension and disability income, plus one small private pension. The tax accounts are simple.
But the UK and Ireland have different tax years.
Do I do a form 12 covering the whole of 2020 for Ireland, or do I do end of March when he arrived, to December?
I did send an enquiry about this via ROS, but I know they are very busy and no reply received after a week...
I feel sure someone on Askaboutmoney will know the answer. Many thanks if you do.!
