Hi All,

Have this really annoying problem that I can't sort even though I know it is only one button that needs to be clicked! The font when I open some internet pages is tiny - unreadable but on others its okay. Has anyone any ideas how to adjust the font size.

Thanks.

Hold down Ctrl and press the up arrow until its the correct size....

If you mean you need to increase the screen resolution then the following is necessary:

1. Go to main screen
2. Right click on the mouse
3. From the options choose Properties (last option)
4. Choose the Settings tab
5. Scroll the screen resolution bar either way to increase or decrease the size
6. You will get a pop-up message a couple of seconds later asking if you want to accept the change.

I think the problem is poorly designed websites that attempt to specify the font sizes to use without regard to the users screen resolution and size rather than using the browser's defaults. www.tribune.ie is guilty of this. It looks tiny on my big screen.

In Internet Explorer-->Tools-->Internet Options-->General-->Accessibility-->Formatting and tick "Ignore font sizes specified on web pages".

You can also tell Firefox to override the web page settings.

Safari has a nicer option, under the advanced settings. You can tell it never to use a font below a certain size.

Or hold down Ctrl and press the + and - keys to the right of the number pad on the right-hand side of the keyboard.

Is it possible to "fix" the chosen font size so as its set for all time ?

Right Click on the desk top and choose properties. Reduce it. It will make the text bigger, but less sharp. You might prefer it.

I never knew that. Cool.

Now maybe I won't go blind as soon as I would have :D

Really handy. Thanks!

Some web sites have the text as images, in which case the only thing that will help is changing the screen resolution. If its only some of the text the Windows Magnifier can be useful. I think its in "Programmes/Accessories/Accessibility/Magnifier".
