I would like to install a solid fuel stove, in a single story pitched roof kitchen extn we are building onto a 2 story house.
The flue would poke through the highest point of the new roof, which is about as high as the bottom of the upstairs windows (maybe 1.5m below the gutter of the main house)
Is this high enough or would it need to extend to the same height as the roof of the main house? The flue would be at the outside end of the extn, 3m from the main house.
Also it would be 2m away from the boundary to the neighbour's garden. Is this far enough away? We are semi detached to our neighbour, so the flue would be about 3.5m from the corner of thier house.
I would prefer a solid fuel stove if possible, but maybe the smoke would be a problem and I should opt for gas instead?
