you only get a free flu vaccine if you have a medical card. The " free " flu vaccine for over 65 is only for the provision of the vacine to the GP, not for the administration. The HSE does not pay the GP for giving the vaccine unless there is a medical card.
However, some GPs do give the vaccine for free to those without a medical card, during a normal consultation. and for the normal fee
