Floors, wall mounted heaters, wallpaper etc

hi

am hoping to do some work in the house and need some advice please.

Wooden floors

Plan to take up carpet in hall and living room and replace with wooden floors...what type to I need and any idea of cost ....its a very average 3 bed semi.

playroom - ditto


Internal doors

Would love to get all the doors downstairs replaced with ones with glass panes.

currently white doors - no idea what type - and the surround is pine as is the skirting

so would i have to replace the door surround and skirting as well? is this a big job?

Wall mounted heater

in order to make our living room look bigger (I hope!), we are thinking of taking out fireplace (can they be sold on?) and putting in a wall mounted electric heater. is this a huge job?

also, was considering wallpapering the living room but would that look ok with a wall mounted fire?



Finally can anyone recommend a website with good images of living rooms or good magazines to buy / download etc ...as you can probably tell from above i havent got a clue and need some inspiration.
