I'm organising an installation of gas heating into a elderly relatives house. He doens't have natural gas and I got several quotes for gas as he had a preference for that over oil. We were told that a tank would have to be 3 metres from the house and from each boundary wall which would have meant it would have to be placed in the centre of his garden which he spends a lot of time in.
The contractor we selected recommended Flogas and a manifold wth 4 cylinders which we would arrange seperately with Flogas. The work started on Monday and we're very happy with progress so far. The contractor advised us to get in touch with Flogas to arrange installation today. When my wife called them the lady (who was very helpful) seemed astonished that the contractor had recommmended the cylinders - she indicated that the cost would be much higher going this route.
Even when my wife explained that we didn't want a big tank in the middle of the garden the lady seemed to think that the cost differential was so big that she would have to talk to contractor before taking the order. At the close of business today she called back and said she had not been able to contact the contractor as yet and would need to do so before booking the order.
To be honest I am feeling from reading other posts on AAM and based on the calls with Flogas today that the bottles / cylinders option sounds disasterous and I'm wondering if I can do anything at this stage to remdiate the damage?
Any advice would be appreiciated.
