Lads and Lassies,

Is it possible to mount a flatscreen TV on a chimney breast which is for a solid fuel stove. Would heat be an issue or is it not a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the chimney lined? Does the wall itself get very hot? Some do and some don't.

No problem. The bracket actually keeps the tv about 4 inches off the wall, plenty of air circulation..

Hi Taydo
I sent you his link before it shows the TV above our stove

Thanks Folks,

Chimney is dry lined according to Builder. Man in Electrical shop said that there should be a barrier strip put on the chimney breast so as to protect the TV. Anyone ever heard of it.

Thanks again for all your help.

i have mine exactly like that with no problems....you should think of hiding all the cabels by drilling through the side of the chimney brest ...if it is a pronounced brest...dont know if that is correct.

If there is heat reaching the TV from the solid fuel stove it will cause a problem there should be some sort of shelf under the TV to deflect the heat If you are sure there is no heat then no problem
