Ash, if you could be a little more precise I'm sure you will get the answer to your problem, ie. is the leak from the feed pipe (hole in the pipe), or the joint at the rad valve/pipe or from the top of the rad valve itself?

Make sure you clamp/hold the valve tight (to prevent it turning/moving) and then with a spanner gently tighen the joint. Should do the trick.
