Hello,
I had been working in the public sector on a one year temporary contract covering a career break. During that time (6 months into my contract) I was given a 2 year 'acting' post however was not provided with any contract for this. The 'acting' period is now coming to an end. In the mean time, the person whose career break I was covering has resigned.
My employer is keen to keep me as staff however feels that their hands are tied by the existing embargo on recruitment. Considering my circumstances, does anyone know of any legal ways that would force them to keep me employed? alternatively does anyone know any good soliciters who could offer advice on this.
