Hi All,

I lost my job in February and since then have been applying for jobs left right and centre. Went to the UK to find work in June but nothing so came home a month ago. Still nothing.. its very frustrating eh?!??!

Anyway, I aam a homeowner, but my house is in a rural area and no chance of getting employment there. So I am staying with friends here and there, in Dublin while I am jobseeking.

Problem is, now I have completely run out of savings and need money.

Can anyone advise me on how to go about getting social welfare? Sorry, i'mjust completely clueless on it as I have never claimed before.

Do I go to the office closest to where I am staying, or do I go to the one closest to my property?
What do I need to bring with me?
Any idea on my entitlements?

Any help is much appreciated

Regards

Polly

Have a look at the sticky post in the Redundancy & Unemployment forum which gives details on what you need to apply for Jobseeker's Benefit/Allowance.

if u have internet oasis.ie ,if not ring citizens advice ,but dont worry too much u will get what you are entitled to,205 for adult i think extra for spouse and kids, go to your nearest office and they will tell u, best of luck
