If a person is a salaried employee normall paid monthly, if they finish work mid month ona Friday, is their last pay day the day they finish or is there an entitlement to receive payment for the saturday and sunday too (assuming their annual salary is divided by 365 and multiplied by the number of days they work that month)?

Usual practice is to take the monthly salary, divide by number of working days in the month, and multiply by number of days actually worked. Working days is usally Mon-Fri, unless they habitually work weekends, so the answer to your question is no.

But it depends on the company. Once they are consistent in what they do, you can't really complain.

I would say that the weekend is not paid, if Friday is your last day.

On the other hand, if you start work for a new company on the first of the month, they will generally pay you from the first, even if it is a Saturday or Sunday.

It is different from company to company, but I would suggest contacting the accounts department and they can go through it with you. Once you have the information, you can take it from there.

Normally people do not get paid for a weekend, unless they work them all the time. if you dont then you will get paid for the days that you worked in the month, and you also have to get any holiday entitlements that are coming to you.
