I had new skirting and architrave fitted and I need to fill the nail marks and joints before I sand and paint them.

whats the best way of doing this? Is there a particular filler that I can buy for wood that I can under coat and paint over?

The order I presume is fill with filler, sand, undercoat and paint??

Painter`s caulk, you get it in any hardware store (B&Q) etc...

Different people do it different ways.

Some like to fill, sand, prime, fill, sand, undercoat then gloss.

Others perfers (me included) to prime first then do the filling and sanding then undercoat then gloss.

My fav way is to prime and undercoat before it is up on a wall, then when it is up on the wall just fill whatever small rolleyes holes have to be filled then a quick undercoat then a gloss.
