Finding old contributions

My father paid contributions to a pension for a period around 30 years ago.

How would I investigate the location of that fund at this stage on his behalf?

He has no documentation and the company he worked for does not exist.

Is this a no chance scenario?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you

You should contact the Pensions Board and they should be able to trace it for you. Best if you have the last known name and address of the relevant employer.

Can he remember if the pension scheme was run by a life assurance company? If so, can he remember which life assurance company?

This is very well worth spending a bit of time researching. As a pension it may not amount to a lot but I do know a few cases where people are getting 100/120 a month. For a supplement to the OAP its allright
