Financial help from HSE?

Hello..does anyone know something about the financial aid for unemployed pair with newborn baby?? ..I mean money for pushchair, cot ...etc. We already got rent allowance payments-HSE. Thanks for help.

You can apply for a once-off payment towards the items you mentioned from the Community Welfare Officer who deals with your Rent Supplement. Don't forget to apply for an increase in your jobseeker's payment for the baby (it's an extra 26 euro per week).

Thanks..baby still not born yet-next week(hope so, lol)..do u think that,we r able to get some money even though we receive rent allowance payments? ..that officer wouldnt be happy to see us there again..ooh ye.. its hard to buy basic items for baby for us..sad, isnt?

You could get all the basic items from it.

Perhaps there is a freecycle service where you are? As babies outgrow cots, prams etc, people are only too delighted to pass them on.

Also if you put the word around friends family, some one is bound to know someone else who wants to pass things on.
