Hi Folks

Tearing my hair out trying to complete the Form 11 on Ros for CGT.

My scenario is as follows:

Net Proceeds in Euro€3,129.97
Purchase Price in ££8.15
Purchase Date10/3/2008
Exchange Rate on Purchase Date1.312380363
Purchase Price in €€10.70
Initial Consideration€748.71
DELTA€2,381.26
Allowance1270 x 2
CGT0

Where I am getting stuck is how do I record this on ROS.

The fields I need to fill in are:

SELF

CHARGEABLE GAINS in the Year -
Chargeable Gain(s) (excluding Foreign Life Policies) net of allowable current year losses, S 604A relief, and S 604B relief:
Personal Exception -
Net Chargeable Gain -

SPOUSE

CHARGEABLE GAINS in the Year -
Chargeable Gain(s) (excluding Foreign Life Policies) net of allowable current year losses, S 604A relief, and S 604B relief:
Personal Exception -
Net Chargeable Gain -

I believe Net Chargeable Gain should be 0 i.e. no tax payable but I cannot see to get the right combination of other inputs to make this happen. The error message I
constantly get is:

Any suggestions greatly received.

Thanks

Nick

You have to enter 0 in the relevant fields - I have already filed my return so I can't remember exactly what fields need - maybe post a copy of the entry form here

If you are claiming 2 x 1,270 then you need to fill in both columns
Chargeable gains should be 2381 divided by 2 so 1190 and 1191
Personal expemption is 1190 and 1191

Excellent, thank you!, that works, I was putting in the total figure of €1270 into the personal exception hence it was throwing everything off.

Very much appreciated.
