Just listening to Mary Wilson and the FF budget proposal's, they want to bring back second home charge at rate of 350 Euro per house. SF want to charge 400 per house

Any Landlord voting for Sinn Fein, labour or Fianna Fail needs their head examining.

None of the above parties have any interest in or sympathy toward Landlords.

Vote for them if you feel the property which you own as investments are not taxed heavily enough.

Well most of the country thought by voting for Fine Gael or Labour wouldn't do many of the things that they have already done. Sinn Fein are hell bent on bringing in a Wealth Tax so you're all going to be pretty damned.

It is a strange policy given the state of the Buy to Let Market and the trouble that the owners are in. It is an ill judged and poorly thought out policy as all costs have to be passed on to the consumer (tenants) eventually.
It also devalues property and will make the banks assets worth less which will leave the shortfall greater for the taxpayer.
It would probably leave less rental property available.
Having said all that it would not surprise me what they would do again.

Given the work that has gone in to see up a property database and a process for paying property tax over the last couple of years, I don't realistically think any major political party would now row back on the work done and get rid of the property tax.

FF have said they would suspend the tax for one year and SF said they would get rid but when it came to taxing the citizens to pay for the cost of running the country, I don't think either would do more than tinker around the edges.
