I'm getting a 50K top up(to pay off loans. On phone was quoted E650(all in incl searches). When I arrive into the office I'm told there will be an extra charge of E350 as the letter of offer from the mortgage provide specifies that the solicitor has to ensure loans are paid off. In oher words he sends a cheque to each one and I don't get to see the money. He says this is hassle and time consuming and so the extra charge.Do you think this is reasonable. I feel it isnt but maybe I'm not in the real world??
