Farm Retirement Pension vs Qualified Adult Dependant

I am in receipt of the Farm Retirement Pension and have a further 2 years on this before I will then qualify for the Non Contributory Old Age Pension.
As my husband receives a full contributory Old Age Pension, my Farm Retirement Pension amounts to €244.46 monthly. Any increase to my husband's pension is automatically deducted from the amount I receive.

Can I switch to being a Qualified Adult Dependant now, as I understand that this would be more beneficial?
In a response to a reader on May 9th, it was stated that in all social welfare claims, the payment most beneficial to the claimants would be encouraged. Is this the case in this instance and how should I go about this?
