Getting equity released on current property which was purchased before we got married. Bank wants to have wife sign further family home protection. Fair enough. However wife has concerns as to the implications which is understandable.
To put the mortgage into joint names now would be costly and lengthy.
Is there any reason why we have to put it into joint names or can I reassure my wife that she would be protected now that we are married ?
Is the property in your sole name, her sole name or joint names? Who are the mortgagors- ie who is/are responsible for paying the mortgage, just you or both of you?
