A very simple question. I just paid a Fair Deal bill for my late mother of €29k. Can I claim tax relief on this?

I never thought I could, but when I asked a Revenue officer about a receipt for the money I paid, he asked was I going to claim tax relief on the paid amount.

Yes if it was out of your funds and not your late mother's.
