Not to be unsympathetic, but right here is your problem. You may be pretty sure that the bank's position is watertight; unless, as suggested, you can move to a new lender, I don't see how you can expect to get out of an agreement you signed up to. It's hardly "extortion", is it?I didn't read the small print and was in a rush to sign.

Legislation says banks should discuss with borrower in advance of putting proposal in a legal document to sign. Reason for this is to stop banks exploiting a layperson. If they did this of course I would spot the sheer unfairness.
