External Insulation on mass concrete walls

We are considering getting the external walls of the house insulated against damp. Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated Ours is a typical 3 bed semi detached. The bedrooms get particularly damp.

Have just read my post. Guess what I really want to know is........can such outer walls be insulated successfully!
