we have an exposed thermostatic valve for our main shower. unfortunately it's given up the ghost after 6-7 years. I've identified a very similar replacement but the centre-centre dimensions for the water inlets is 150mm and our broken one is 130mm. There seems to be very little out there at 130mm.I'd like to get something old looking rather than a modern bar-type ones.Anyone got any idea why it's mostly 150mm dimensions now or more importantly does anyone know of a 130mm centre-centre exposed thermostatic valve on the market?
The one we have is like this but without the 150mm dimensions! (i checked with the vendor to be sure)
it's a sequential thermostatic valve. according to the local hardware store sequential is the brand name. don't have a model number for it unfortunately other than it's a version of the one on the link in my initial thread.
Ross's in Cabra would be a decent place to purchase or call shires in Tallaght for your local distributer - they'll be able to tell you if and where you can buy a service kit (or a better option - the mixing cartridge). Have you had anyone look at the existing valve? Problem could be as simple as blocked filters (if they're incorporated).
