I am the executor of a will. The deceased person resided always in the UK and their assets were in the UK (actually, just their home). The value of the estate is well below the requirements for tax. The two beneficiaries are children of the deceased. One beneficiary lives in another EU country. Because the value of the estate in the UK is well below the threshhold - and therefore exempts the estate and the beneficiaries from any kind of estate or inheritance taxes, does that mean the beneficiary outside of the UK is also exempted?
