Exchange rates

Dont know if i am in the right place but here goes. I want to exchange 6,000 euro into $$ but dont want to let the banks cream the extra few cent that they do when exchanging that kind of money, I've figured they will make an extra $135.00 on 6K....difference between retail rate and what they give you. Where can i go to make the best rate possible on 6K?

The retail rate is the one available to you and me. Maybe you meant the wholesale rate ? In which case, try changing your currency with XE.com ?
