I have noticed on a policy renewal that the standard excess has increased from e125 to e250. Could this be a change across the board with home insurances or just with certain companies.
It is anticipated that excesses will increase on all policies across all insurers. This is particularly the case when escape of water excesses will increase significantly, in some cases to €500 on standard household policies. Some underwriters are considering increasing water peril excesses to €1000!!! Commerical pressures may stop them from doing this.
