Hi all,

Through no fault of my own, ok a little - a clash of personalities i promise you! - I've been asked to leave where I'm living and given one month's notice.

My question; if i leave before the notice period expires, could i/dare i expect a refund of my rent paid thus far for the month?
 
I doubt it ..... you are being allowed to stay for the month ...

Where do you stand with deposit/bills etc.?
 
I have no reason to expect any difficulty here. Its just Christmas - I could move home for a week or two and save the rent.
 
Why not 'offer' to move out earlier and ask for outstanding rent to be paid back?

No harm in asking! If he/she says no .... then hold onto your room until the end of your month's notice.
 
I've done that and she's agreed (finally). I had been worried as she said we coudl discuss on my last day and had been trying to establish my rights, or ordinary custom etc.
