EToro closing trade issue

Wondering if I can do anything about this.

Had a position on a share. Circa €25k. Used 2x leverage.

Stop loss at $6.50.

Share dropped to $6.75

Results came out and shares opened at $7.67 premarket was all over $7.50. Share had a high of $8.17 and a low of $7.37 during the day. (Currently at $8.70)


EToro closed out my position at $6.48 - a price the shares have never hit at any point in the last 5 years. They have not responded to a complaint yet.

Based on current price, I'd be $8k better off. Not sure where to go with this - any suggestions?

You're using leverage, so you're trading CFDs not shares. You don't set a price for stop-loss, you set the amount that you are comfortable to lose. The price only has to fall half as much to execute the stop-loss since the leverage doubles your losses.

Did you intend to use CFDs and do you understand the risks?
