esse350 flue,buy or not to buy

hi everyone,new to this so i hope ye can help.
im geting an esse 350,taking out my open fireplace and inserting the esse 350 and i was told first of all that i don't need a flue for it just the stove itself would be fine ,now im been told that i would need it by an stove salesman,what do ye think.Is he trying to make a quick buck
 
Who told you that you don't need a flue ? If you look at the instructions they clearly state the stove should be fitted to HETAC standards and they say you need a flue connector to a liner. Looks like you met an honest salesman.
 
thanks peter but just read the instructions and you don't need a flue lf its going in to a standard irish or british fireplace,
If u want ill send on the instructions so u can have a read of them
