Check the time period covered by the bill - Is it more than the usual 2 months?


Check whether the previous and present meter readings are estimates or actuals. If you had a number of low estimated readings - this could be the catch-up bill.


Is there any possibility that someone else could be using electricity from your house / farm etc?
 
My wife is away at the moment and I thought I was doing a great job flying solo... until I realised I had left the oven on all night. And I've now done that twice over the weekend! Could you have done something similar? Love some high powered electricity drinking appliance running?

Check the dates of the bill.Is it the normal 2month/3 month? If not negotiate with them as how best to pay it off.

I got a Gas bill and it was a four month bill.

They had sent me a bill at end of jan which i paid,I recieved an invoice in Feb saying I was paid up to date and then got a bill for 1064 in Early April!!
 
A serious audit started in the 'beard' household as of 5pm yesterday.
Probably last until tomorrow.
