entitlements if i cancel benefit and live with partner?

im getting single parent payment but now my situation has changed with my babys father and have started a relationship we are thinking about living together for the first time. my problem is i will lose my single parents payment and rent allowance. my babys father only works 24 hours per week so he cannot pay rent and support us. i want to live with my daughters father but im worried how i will support her, can i claim any other benifit or can we claim as a family?

If you move in together , for tax purposes ye will be treated as single .

However , for Social Welfare , ye will be treated as a family .

As he works 24 hours a week , you can claim FIS and try for medical card .

I dont know how rent allowance works ,but you may possibly lose out on this.

If the father is only working 3 days a week ( 24 hours ) , he may be able to claim rent allownance , if he is already claiming SW for other 2/3 days

Remember you can only claim one SW payment at any one time
