After endless trouble with a Motorola phone a few months ago I switched to a Nokia 6230i, it was recommended as the most reliable.......I handed it back for repairs today because it kept cutting out on calls with 'insert sim card' coming up. (A common problem with the model, judging by messageboards).
When I gave it back I explained I needed a temporary replacement that would work with my Nokia data cable (need it for my lap top this week).
They gave me a Vodafone 'courtesy' phone (don't know what model it is).
Having brought it home I've discovered
(1) I can't make outgoing calls (check operator services comes up) but can receive them and can send and receive text messages
and
(2) when I attach my data cable to it and the laptop I get the message that is has malfunctioned and is not recognised.
Can any one help? Please! Thanks.
