Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knew if it was legal to cut rates of commission?
Let me explain, I've been employed for 2 years on a basic salary with commission on any sales business I bring in. Unfortunately I don't have a written contract but it was agreed and always paid at a percentage of the contract amount. Anyway, I put through my commission spreadsheet for this quarter and I get the impression, but I won't find out for sure until the end of the week), that my boss hasn't a notion of paying it. The thing is, the company is making a massive profit from these contracts, in fact one of them made more of a profit in one month than for the year to date for this time last year.
Can they refuse my commission when profits are up, running costs are no more than last year? Surely the recession can't be used as an excuse for everything?
Any advice appreciated
