Employer won't sign redundancy form

My DH was put on leave from his employer 5 weeks ago. He was the last staff member to leave out of 40 employee's. The factory is shut and he can't get in contact with the employer, who was extremely unreasonable during the last few weeks of work. My DH is owed 3 weeks wages for cheques that bounced along with the rest of the staff. No staff member has recieved a redundancy payment and the employer will not sign any forms.

My husband started on the JSB 4 weeks ago but as far as we understand he is technically still employed as he has not been given a P45.

I have the forms to claim redundancy directly from the PSRI Fund but how long to you have to wait before sending in the claim. Do you have to give the employer a certain amount of time to respond. A liquidator or examiner have not been appointed despite the factory being closed.

Also, my DH has just seen a job that he would really like to apply for but we're not sure if he can apply. Last thing we want to do is mess up his redundancy claim as he had 10 years service.

Thanks to anyone that can advise.

Check out Comsumer Affairs. There is a time limit when those forms must be signed.
