I am about to make an investment in professional electronic equipment which I'll need to start up a new business. The final figure will be in the region of €15,000. No big surprise to discover that I can purchase and ship the exact same equipment from UK to here for about €2,500 to €3,000 less than to stay and shop in Ireland!
I've done a lot of research and know that the particular equipment I'm looking for has a tremendous reputation, however, I would be foolish to presume it's indestructible. The company in UK assures me that the item has full european warranty... however I have heard on the grapevine that the Irish HQ of the manufacturer in question refuses to cover warranty repairs on UK goods. I intend to phone this manufacturers HQ and ask if this is so, but before I do I would be interested to hear from anyone who might know what the legal situation is, or if anyone has any experiences to share....
