Hi - we bought a second hand house last year and the electric shower is making a grinding noise and is going from hot to warm back to hot..
its more the noise thats worrying me. Has anyone had any similar problems - is it a plumber i would get or an electrican? thanks in advance

Have a plumber look over it, check filters. Does it make the sound when you remove head?.
you probably need to replace it.

It could be that you have limescale in the filters and head.

I had this problem and we took off the front panel of the shower, and soaked the filters and shower head in vinegar. We live in a hard water area and periodically we take off the shower head and steep overnight in vinegar to keep up with getting rid of the limescale deposits.

thanks guys - tahts a great idea.. i know we have quite a bit of limescale so that could be the problem alright.. could be that i am hearing the water pressure in the shower but the shower head is too clogged for it to flow freely!

You'll know fairly quickly if it is limescale buildup, as you won't be getting the hot then cold water, as I found out. The noise will go too.
