Hi all! Have electric gates put in less than two years ago, in the cold weather one of them isnt fully closing, you have to reset on the inside of wall and try again-usually works when you do this. Rang the man i got them from said they need to be serviced-he never mentioned this when buying-he is to get back to me on a price for this. Does anyone know how much to service elec gates or anyone ever had same sort of problem?

A lot can happen to an electrical device.
You can also have problems with the mechanical parts.
Someone might have hit it in the slippy weather we've had.
You should supply more information if you hope for answers.
Is it an opening gate that slides or rotates?
What are the dimensions of one of the doors or is there only a single leaf?
Specs for the motors might be useful to you if you decide to Google.
We are not aware of anyone driving over them and i think if anything like that did happen we would see marks on the gate due to position. Its a FAAC system and the gates rotate open. Therfore both gates close but one stays open a couple of inches-doesnt seem to be anything interupting it or anything, i have cleaned out the boxs as much as i can.
I have had exactly the same problem but it appears that have somewhat corrected themselves. I am based in Galway but the bloke that fitted them is from Mayo. PM me if you want to share the name and vice versa.
It may need to be adjusted on the spindle of its a "boot" fitting [in the ground] or you may have a damaged or bent piston if its a piston arm on the back.
Other than that it could be a priblem with a hinge being broken or misaligned.
Specialist installer stuff perhaps, although I'm sure a competent engineering firm could take a look at it - is it under warranty?
The reason I suggested looking on Google for the particular make of motor is that you might find out about a generic fault.
