Electric central heating

Hi

I am about to rent a small apartment with Electric central heating which has normal day and cheaper evening costs.
Am I crazy to go electric compared to gas? are the costs much different now?

Depends on where you are but you may not have a lot of choice. Almost all of the apartments i looked at a few years were heated with electric night storage (i think that is what you are talking about) they were all built in the last 15 years. The advantage is that modern apartments are reasonably well insulated so the difference between gas and electric may be smaller than you think.
also when i looked there were precious few apartments (not houses) on the market with gas.

The apartment is in an old Georgian house on the top floor. Not sure if they are storage but probably. I have never used electric heating before but have the impression the bills might be scary. Does anyone have a cost comparrison between gas and electric heating bills?
