Eircom... Remember them?

Help!

Came across some old share certs... Basically I bought into Telecom Eireann when they went public. In turn they changed their name to Eircom. So far so good... well sort of if you ignored the performance of the shares!

Then Vodafone came along and bought part of the business, for which I received some Vodafone shares.

My question is what happened the rest of Eircom? Are my Eircom certs still valid?

'fraid not - they sent you a cheque even if you did not assent to the sale.

But you can at least still look at the cert and dream of what might have been....
