Hi,
I just want to highlight an issue that I don't think has been raised on the site to date, although it's still early in the year.
I believe there is an issue wiith the Revenue balancing statements for 2013 for a particular situation when an AVC was encashed early.
I had a small AVC which I partially encashed earlier in the year.
This was not subject to any USC charges which is as expected - See section 3 of this document [broken link removed]
I made a claim for some health expenses this month for 2013 and when the tax/usc was recalculated the AVC encashed was now seen as income and USC was charged.
So the refund I received was off from what I expected by exactly the charged USC amount.
I'll contact revenue tomorrow on it but just a heads up to anyone else that might have come across this.
