Does anyone know where I would pick a DVD with DivX and Multiregional player. I contacted Powercity and they say they don't have any. Got a few DVDs from America and want to play DivX as well but not having much look. Can anyone recommend a player that I could get.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry for hijacking this thread but on a related issue, my dvd player seems to be multi region. Someone told me this is normal initially and the format will settle on which ever region i play most often. Is this the case?

thanks

Never heard of that. Certainly not "normal" or common as far as I know. Many players will be region locked on purchase. Some will be region free. Those that are locked can often be unlocked with a hack (e.g. combination of key presses on remote, firmware upgrade etc.). If your player is region free then I would not expect that to change based on what you play on it!

I've seen this on laptop DVD players, it defaults to whatever region is played first. If you insert a disc from a different region it prompts you asking it you want to change regions saying you can only change 3 times, then it's locked for good.

If you are going with DivX multiregion isn't an issue. If you are going for DivX get a DivX ultra player. Lots of standard players play DivX now, I've a philips one bought in Powercity. I don't use DivX though because not having chapters is a pain. DivX Ultra has players. The Sony shops will unlock their DivX/DVD players for a fee.
