Duty on a UK Car

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone would know the amount of duty I would have to pay on a car, bringing in a Rav 4 from Wales, paying 7000sterling for it. Thanks a million

Hi all,

im half afraid to ask this as 2 people jumped down my throat yesterday! but i cant work this calculator on the ros website. looking to bring in a 3 door toyota rav 4, petrol 1.8 april 2003 with 53000 miles on the clock, it keeps saying there is no such vehicle!

if anyone can help it would be great, thanks
 
I also found that many cars are not listed on ROS website.
In the past, i have emailed them the details of the car, and got the duty amount in reply.
 
Mess around with the number of doors and the vehicle type - this sometimes throws up the car you are looking for.
 
when you are asked to choose the type of vehicle, choose it as an estate, not an SUV or whatever else they have there. That should do the trick

How did you get on with that import on the Rav? How much did it cost you to re-register? I'm about to buy a Rav in the UK and am wondering how much it's going to cost me to re-register?
